By sharing these stories we present visible role models who can inspire, encourage and motivate the next generation of young women to follow their dreams and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Her Story: Inspiring Women in STEM celebrates amazing women who are blazing their own trails and encouraging others to do the same. Their stories are honest and inspiring, and show that by following your passion, you can achieve anything.
The series started in 2020 with Emily Hack, a recent graduate with a degree in Civil Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Chemistry. While completing her degree she did work experience with SA Water and was offered a role as a Graduate Engineer.
Professor Caroline McMillen is the Chief Scientist for South Australia. For many years she has been a researcher in Adelaide and worked at the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.
Dr. Rachael King is a Research Scientist at South Australian Museum, specialising in the taxonomy and evolutionary history of crustaceans from both marine and freshwater environments.
